Hey all! Its @darkstachio ‘s birthday today, so I figured I write a little something for the thottiest of them all! It is based off some drabble I posted in the anon family discord, but who doesn’t love our fav soft vampire Damien? Happy birthday nerd <3
Damien hummed quietly to himself as he curled up on the couch, a mug of tea beside him and a book in his hand. He tried his best to relax, to allow himself to slip away and get lost in the book he held, but the worried feeling in his gut had him glancing up at the door every time he heard a sound in the hallway beyond. It was late, but after the incident months before, it had become much easier for him to stay up waiting for William to come home. His job had lost most of the danger over the past few months, as the hunter found ways to help the supernatural community instead of exterminating it. There was still occasionally a rogue or feral creature, but William had more then enough experience to protect himself. Still, Damien found himself looking at the door.
When the door finally swung open Damien practically jumped off the couch, throwing his book to the side as he strode towards the door. “Wills I thought you’d ne-
Damien froze as the scent of blood wafted into the room. “Wills?”
William stumbled in, leaning heavily on the door, blood seeping through his shirt and onto the floor. “Th-they jumped m-me… w-when I w-walked in…”
He stumbled forwards, starting to fall but Damien lunged forwards to catch him. He could feel Will’s blood soaking through his shirt as he helped the man steady, before scooping him up and carrying him to their bedroom. Focus on anything but the blood Dames, anything but the blood. He gently kicked the door open and layed William on the bed, before rushing to their bathroom to grab their first aid kit. This wasn’t the first time he had patched William up, but he had never seen this much blood. He set the first aid kit down and pulled William’s shirt off, shaking slightly when he saw the wound.
The gash was deep and still slowly oozing blood, he’d have to get it stitched, but even then, he still didn’t know how much blood Will had lost. His hands shook as he stitched the gash, trying to ignore the smell, and how it made his stomach grumble.
He finished, and wiped the rest of the blood away, and covered the stitches with a bandage. “Wills darling? Are you still awake?” his voice shook with worry.
Will’s eyes fluttered and he mumbled something unintelligible under his breath. Damien would have paled if he could. He gently took Will’s face in his hand, “Will honey I need you to open your eyes.”
He didn’t respond, his skin growing paler by the minute. Damien started trembling. “Wills if you don’t answer I’m gonna have to do something neither of us are gonna like.”
William’s breathing started to slow, and Damien panicked. If he did this William might not forgive him. But he couldn’t lose him. This would have come up eventually. “Wills I’m so sorry… but I can’t lose you.”
He leans in and bites down on Will’s neck, ignoring the taste of his blood. He licked over the wound to clot the blood and pulled Will up to the pillows holding him close. “Please be okay…”
Will groaned quietly. Had he made it home? Was he okay? He shifted slightly trying figure out where he was. Damien shifted and wrapped his arms tighter around his waist. “Wills?”
William rolled over and buried his face in Damien’s chest. Was he wearing a new cologne? “I’m okay Dames, you patched me up really good.”
Damien sighed shakily, “We need to talk about that.”
William sat up, looking Damien in the eyes, surprised at the clarity. “What’s wrong Dames?”
Damien felt his eyes tear up, “When you got home you had lost a lot of blood, I stitched you up the best I could, but you had lost too much, and you weren’t responding, and your heart was slowing down so I panicked… and I bit you.”
William froze as he let the information sink in. He had been dying, and Damien had saved him. It explained why he could see everything so clearly, and why Damien smelled so nice. He looked up and sighed when he saw Damien trying to hide his tears. He pulled the other man into his arms, it was nice to be the same temperature again. “Dames, honey, I’m not upset. It’ll take some time, but I’ll adjust. Couldn’t leave my husband alone know could I?”
Damien laughed through his tears. “I love you. So much. Only you could make this into something funny.”
William smiled, and kissed Damien tenderly, freezing, as his fangs bumped against Damien’s. He pulled away sheepishly. Damien laughed quietly. “Well come on Mr. Ford. Lets get something to eat.”
